Before Velora Melbourne, there was Elena. A Melburnian woman in love with fabrics, cuts, and the stories that every garment holds within. This is her story — and, in many ways, ours too.
THE BEGINNINGS
From a young age, Elena would sketch dresses in the margins of her school notebooks. While her friends played during recess, she watched women walk along the streets of Melbourne and dreamed of the day when her garments would dress someone.
She studied design, travelled to fashion fairs in Milan and Paris, and spent years working in small local workshops, learning to sew by hand, understand fabrics, and respect the craft. Fashion was never a business to her — it was a way of caring for people.
THE DAY WE OPENED OUR DOORS
A small shop right in the heart of Melbourne. The walls freshly painted, the empty clothing racks waiting, a cash register lent by a friend. That April, Elena turned the key for the first time and hung the sign above the door: Velora Melbourne — Fashion for Living.
Not many people came in on the first day. But the woman who walked through the door at five in the afternoon and left wearing an ivory linen dress unknowingly wrote the first line of this story.

More than 5000 women have worn our garments. Some came looking for their wedding dress. Others were searching for the perfect coat for an interview, an outfit to celebrate a promotion, or simply something beautiful to wear on an ordinary Tuesday.
Each and every one of you is part of this story. Without you, Velora Melbourne would have been nothing more than a sign above a door.

16 years ago, we began this journey with one simple idea: to create pieces that made women feel confident, elegant, and truly special.
We never imagined this journey would take us so far.
Over the years, we've celebrated thousands of orders, met incredible customers, and built something far greater than a store. We built a community.
But every story has its final chapter.
